Hi everyone, just wanted to say the gig rocked (and the latest version of BMD brought a tear to the eye). I got back really late last night and now I have to go to work before catching a train to Leeds this afternoon, but I will write my review asap.

Awseome night last night guys really enjoyed meeting some of you (I think I saw 3 or 4 H&H People around).
The opening band were awseome, I really enjoyed them but for the life of me I cant remember their name! Help anyone? But, I loved the NIN cover at the end of the set, perfect ending
Next up, Inner City Pirates. I had checked these guys out online previously, and they really are something else live! Such a tight sound and it was nice to see them get what little of a crowd we had last night on their feet and moving. the YMCA cover and the snippets or Beyonce and Queens Of The Stone Age were welcomed, and the ending cover of Sweater Song bu Weezer too!!!
Then came the main event of the evening, Love Amongst Ruin. Bouncing onstage to Blood & Earth, they really bring energy to the live shows. A set mainly consisting of album songs and I think one B Side and one cover.
Loved every second of this, but after 2 hours sleep I am feeling rather out of it today :/
Sweet Dreams lol x

Thanks for your review Jamie - and it was good to meet you. I loved how Steve appreciated your dancing *exalts you* I've replied to your post on the other thread about the opening band - they're called Resist. I'll get my own review together tomorrow - I am still sooo tired, having had about an hour's sleep last night! xxx

Forgive doublepost but here is my review: Manchester, Academy 2 3rd November 2010I took my friend Adele to this gig for her birthday. After a feeding frenzy of pizza and tiramisu, we waddled in the rain through Manchester’s streets of grand Victorian buildings to the venue. Resist were first on. I liked them: the singer had a great voice, great stage presence and a great corset Inner City Pirates are really growing on me too: they perform with such energy, presence and commitment. ‘Girls, can you handle this? Boys, can you handle this?’ Talking to Adele afterwards, she really liked them too, but made this lovely observation: ‘When LAR came on, I realised that Inner City Pirates were boys, but LAR – they are *men*!’ Sorry Teresa, but you know what she means I had given Adele a copy of the album as a pre-gig gift, and she said she actually prefers them live – she was blown away by their energy and the quality of their sound. And the sound was really good at this gig, I have to say – even though the monitors weren’t working so well for the band so they couldn’t really hear themselves properly. Trust us LAR – you sounded fantastic Steve said it was good to see some familiar faces in the audience, this being his home ground. And apparently Keith’s dad was also there! It was a strange crowd though in a way: the first two or three rows were packed, and then there was a kind of no man’s land, followed by another gaggle of people at the rear. It was a bit sad, and can perhaps partially be blamed on the absence of proper publicity at the venue – not LAR’s fault, but an oversight on the venue’s part. Even so, several people were dancing – including our forum member Jamie – and they all got a commendation from Steve. I had to laugh when Jamie was checking the pics he’s taken on his phone and Steve stood over him on stage and clapped in his face! Jamie, I hope to see your pics up on here when you’re ready Adele and I had to dash off afterwards: we both had a long journey back home as we had to work the next day But I came away thinking that this is a band who seriously rock and who give it their all on stage. If other people in the crowd were like my friend and saw them perhaps by chance, I have no doubt that they will have come away thinking ‘yes, this is a band I need to follow’. We were asked to keep the faith while Steve was getting things together – and now we have to continue to keep and spread the faith – this is a band who will win more and more people over each time they play. Love you guys xxx Edited to add: I loved ICP's version of YMCA! Every rock band should cover it
