Do we get commission for doing your work?? uhm, I was thinking about this last night. I'd like to see something that literally represents the band name/title. I'd like to see something dark and gloomy, but something small and beautiful breaking through. I guess a somewhat cliched version of this would be like a bombed out old building and a flower seedling blooming through the rubble. I want something that shows shades of light and dark, with a notion that the small piece of love and light is going to win at the end of the day.

^That i actually see in my head this really gothic castle with the band standing in the midst of the ruins - but that's maybe a tad too gothic for the band's image.... Oooh, but in Yorkshire there are some beautiful ruins: Whitby Abbey (I think that's where I'm thinking of) and Fountains Abbey are just wow. They would be a fantastic backdrop for something. One of the two (I forget which) was used in Iron Maidens 'can i play with madness' video... *think I now qualify for the 'sad old goth' label* poetress x

^^ Not a sad goth at all + Kate I like your interpretation; that's how I see it too. Sorry I can't name any places or anything....*sad geography failure*

^Thank you Boo, but I notice you don't refute the old, lol.
There's a ruined castle near where I live that would be so cool for a band photoshoot - half decayed towers and broken down walls and stuff. There's a tower there with half of a wall missing which would make a fantastic frame for a band shot or Steve with guitar. Love Amongst Ruin amongst ruins, lol
*drags thread back on topic* I was thinking earlier the artwork could have something like a trashed stage and something representing the band (I'm not good at the details of this stuff!) rising from it. Or a wrecked guitar or amp and something coming from the wreckage...
Or maybe something like *whispers* the slave to the wage video where everything is just falling away in tatters leaving the heart of the picture intact. I'm struggling to explain it, but kind of expressing the idea of love being the centre of the world and all the irrelevancies falling away in ruins.
Or maybe I should just give up and stick to the poetry - I think I'm better with words than images...

so will this be a logo? if it's going to be used repeatedly on many items an image of the band might not work but i guess it depends on the item but i like all of the aforementioned ideas very much just the same i know - maybe the background in black and white and the emerging 'love' image in color as a point of contrast - picking up on what Kate said **wonders what the album art will look like and cannot wait for its release**

^^^ Nooo I really like your ideas! I can see exactly where you're coming from too. *inspirational block*
And I didn't notice an "old" anywhere o.0 possibly because I just don't consider you old.

Hi guys, Its Dan here (the guy doing the flyers etc) I like your ideas and responses - cheers for this! So far I have one image drawn up and thats of a wall with a hole knocked through - the wall breaking away around the hole revealing the bricks and mortar, in the middle of the hole is darkness..Im considering drawing a gleaming light amongst the darkness representing hope. My other idea that I intend to draw shortly and will get back to you guys soon. Love x

^ First one sounds great so far (: I'd love to see your work once you've finished it. Oh and while it's not an obligation - if you create a free account then you can log in with the same username each time, receive PMs from members, and not to mention it's easier to make sure it's really you we're talking to *loses track of pathetic list of reasons to be a member*
