I hope this is an appropriate place for this thread - Boo if you think it should be moved to 'Bo' I will understand - but I really wanted to chat about my favourite drum tracks of Steve's, and until we have the new stuff, I'm left with: Scared of Girls - drumming to excite the senses! Black Eyed - the drumming on this song totally makes it for me And the other two that come to mind right now are from Meds (the album where I think the drums seem to be most prominent in the mix): Infra-Red - the drumbeat is so intense it's almost scary, it reminds me of Cybermen from Dr Who! Space - for me this is how Cybermen would sound at 3am after too much whisky ... Does anyone have other favourites? Hehehe, having previewed this post I've remembered what happens when you type the M word!

Probably could go in gen discussion as it could include Boo Radleys and Breed etc....
As I just said in another thread, I am terrible at picking faves so I wont.
In an interview Hewitt said Black Eyed was one of his fave to play live.

Good point, yes - I'm just not familiar with his work from those bands.

For me it's Running up that hill and 20 years.... I swear to Bowie, there's no one else who could play those 2. Yes, I'm trying to avoid using that name here

^ god yes, Twenty Years - sublime drums on there. I think in hindsight I was premature to start this thread, it would be bad if it turned into a reminiscing session. It will be so good to hear the new stuff and to discuss that instead. Am I right in thinking that Steve will be playing other instruments as well?

I'm not sure what he'll be doing =) Don't worry about thread chaos - eventually there will be something else to talk about, and it's not as if you're repeatedly whining about getting him back in the band; it's just a discussion so it's fine by me

my hands down, all-time fave drum track is Black Eyed - so shexy Scared of Girls is esp a perfect tempo for running

Come Home had Robert Schultzberg on the drums though, didn't it Back to Steve: I hope he had a good week in the studio - perhaps we will soon be tickled by a few new sounds? I just love his drumming so much, it will be so good to hear it in a new context. I grew up listening to lots of ska and reggae, so beats are important to my body and soul Btw, hi misty and welcome. Don't forget to tell us about yourself and how you found us on the Welcome thread x

I will cry the day that I hear baby steve f. play twenty years live. it was the song that made me fall in love with good music in general.
only Steve can play Evil Dildo. and he rocks at it.
