Allo all,
WHAT'S IN A NAME: The name's KATE, generally in caps, not to yell but became used to typing it that way to distinguish from other forumers with the same name. My nickname is generally rougevelvet these days, (Moulin Rouge / Velvet Goldmine) though in the past I have gone by RHPS Magenta.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: I'm from South Australia, increasingly becoming the arse end of this country and bands are starting to skip over visiting our state, sucks big time, because promoters know we'll pay to travel and see them. I should move, but I'm lazy and scared.
THE INTERWEBZ: Online I'm always on livejournal (placebowhores, suckerlove, Velvet Goldmine), PFWW, Moulin Rouge/Australia boards, JRMfansite.org board are the main ones I suppose. I'm not really into mywasteofspace or facebook but have them should I need to follow band blogs or keep in touch with close friends. Oh, but I am using Twitter, also.
MUSIC IS MY BOYFRIEND: I have a pretty diverse taste in music, pick up my ipod and scroll, you'll see that. Cradle of Filth to Tori Amos, Kitschy musicals (Rocky Horror, Wicked, Little Shop etc) to Nine Inch Nails. A few more name drops Placebo (obv), IAMX, Smashing Pumpkins, Sia, Patrick Wolf, Amanda Palmer/Dolls, Eliott Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Manson...
TELL ME MORE, TELL ME MORE: I'm an uncontrollable fag hag and proudly so, I have a law degree which I despise and therefore do not use, I love running websites and the like.

Hey KATE =) I love your diverse taste by the way ^^ and finally the Moulin Rouge / Velvet Goldmine thing is confirmed...because that's what your name made me think of. And i love the way you lair out your intro - i'm a big fan of bold and capitals as a way to locate information.
Argh...why am i stuck thinking of the newbie questions...erm...what are your favourite type of shoes? *feels lame*

Ta, I've been a forum admin for yeaaars, so I know what I like to read/what is easy on the eye to read, makes sense to me. People have way too much ADD to sit and read a big block of text, you have to break it into bite size pieces for net dwellers As for shoes, lol, I go bare foot whenever possible, which is probably why I have such massive feet. I'm not a shoe person at all, but my fave shoes are Doc Martens, my 14 holes to be precise, black....but would still like a cherry red pair one day....

^ nice =) i only just got to liking shoes at all...i still loathe socks - but red Docs would be awesome. And i know what you mean. For me it's from proofreading novels i once planned to publish (might still). When i found t'internet i was just astounded by the grammatical/spelling/layout problems on...every website. I actually had to train myself in typos because i felt patronising on forums. Perhaps text OCD makes an admin.

lol, you're probably right!! Tis a good start at any rate. That said, I surely make my fair share of typos so you'll probably want to whip me at some stage Umm, what else, ooh, I make icons A LOT... feel free to rummage and grab any steve related ones from my LJ to use here.

^ thanks for supplying that by the way - it should help everyone find suitable avatars =) No way, i'm not into whipping people unless they're gonna enjoy it. It just doesn't work in a community with perhaps non-English fluents. Though my pet hate is when English people who don't have problems spelling insist on doing it to be "cool".

Hey, KATE! Great to see you on here, I'm aka ladymolko from pfww ... and I too have a law degree which I despise! *squishes* Oh, I'm so glad Im not alone on this! ...does everybody around you now look at you with WTFery?? ...or is that just me? *ahem* questions! ...or more to the point, answers! The topic of bod mod is never be something I'd put in a FAQ about myself, I dont really think about it. As for people doing it to themselves, I say go for it really, I have that opinon on most things, sexuality, taste in music etc. None of my business. I have no mods of my own, not even ear piercings, had them done once, they didnt take, couldnt be arsed dealing with em. I dont like my body so I dont feel the need to draw attention to any part of it. I had considered the day that I one day feel comfortable doing some sort of celebratory tatt etc, but just a far off thought. From what I've seen here so far, I feel my thoughts on Vampires may not be appreciated. I dont get the whole Twilight thing, it made me laugh. I've just finished watching two seasons of True Blood in about a week, so Im kind of addicted to that right now. Surprised myself. Never watched Buffy because it was forced down my throat when I was a teen being that it was EVERYWHERE but have been watching it the last year or so and enjoying it for what it is. Quite like Interview With A Vampire, watched it the other week, thought Queen of the Damned was horrific, but have some sentimental attachment to it because technically Im in it. I am NO good at picking Favourite anythings!! I guess The Legend of Old Gregg is always a winner, I mean, come on!! lol
